Since my first attempt in 1996, I have compiled many top-10 lists of the biggest mistakes in Web design. This article presents the highlights: the very worst mistakes of Web design.

1. Avoid PDF Files for Online Reading

Users hate coming across a PDF file while browsing, because it breaks their flow. Even simple things like printing or saving documents are difficult because standard browser commands don’t work. Layouts are often optimized for a sheet of paper, which rarely matches the size of the user’s browser window. Bye-bye smooth scrolling. Hello tiny fonts.

Worst of all, PDF is an undifferentiated blob of content that’s hard to navigate.

PDF is great for printing and for distributing manuals and other big documents that need to be printed. Reserve it for this purpose and convert any information that needs to be browsed or read on the screen into real web pages.

2. Make the content scannable

this is the Internet, not a book, so forget large blocks of text. Probably I will be visiting your site while I work on other stuff so make sure that I can scan through the entire content. Bullet points, headers, subheaders, lists. Anything that will help the reader filter what he is looking for.

3. Use the Free Font…It Looks Fine to Me
There was a time in my life when (a) all serif fonts looked the same and (b) no font was worth paying for. I have since rescinded on both, and continue to learn more about the complex and beautiful world of typography. Honestly, if there was one subject I wish I could master, it would be typography. You can have a great website with only a little color and great type (and such is the basis for any great design anyways). Again, becoming better at typography requires reading and training your eye by looking at good sites. And please never categorize all fonts under either “fun” or “boring.”

4. Spelling and Grammar Mistakes

Face it, we all make spelling mistakes sometimes when we type. Normally we leave that burden to Microsoft Word Spell Checker.

But, the web editor you use may not be as feature rich as Microsoft Word. It may catch spelling errors but not grammatical ones.

5. Tiny clickable areas

Hyperlinks are designed to be clicked, so to make them usable, it makes sense to ensure that they’re easy to click. Here’s an example of links that are far too small; clicking them is harder than it should be.

6. Where’s the Search box?

The web is like an archive of information. Whether it’s a corporate website or merely a blog, a search box is essential. The visitor might be looking for something that is hidden within the website, with the search box, chances are, visitors will get what they want.

You have to make sure about the strength of your keyword in order to be unique keyword. In a Google searching, using keyword is also really important one. Without using and selecting a keyword, you will not be able to search what you want to search.

Knowing that fact here provided some tips you can apply when you select your keyword;

Be positive with yourself. It means that you have to believe that you can. So, when you decide “this” as your keyword, you have to believe that it is right for you because only you that has a good understanding with your business and your need. So, you cannot unbelief to your self. It is the main key when you select a keyword.

Examine your keyword lists. By using Google controller, you can examine how unique your keyword is. The way to examine it is really easy. You only need to write your list of keyword and URL in the Google keyword tool, and then you can select ‘check’ to be clicked.

Examine your keyword’s strength. You also can use a Google to help you in examining your keyword’s strength. It is a simple way. You only need to search about the keyword in the term in your URL; surely Google will offer you a list of keyword. Then, you can appeal that keyword with your keyword. Usually, Google put the most strength in the number 10-15. So, you can know how strength your key word is.

Make sure that your keyword is the most effective. To determine the effectiveness of your keyword, you can use a software namely SpyFu. This software is actually like a market of keyword, so you can know its price. This software also can provide you the list of keywords complete with its price. Of course, it will make you easier to select your keyword.

Think about the lowest ranking of keyword. This is the unique way in selecting the keyword. You cannot avoid thinking about the lowest rank of keyword. It is easy to think that actually the lowest rank of keyword can be in a highest rank. It means, because of there is no person thinking about that lowest rank of keyword, of course it will be unique. And it means, if you use that lowest rank as your keyword, it will be the best rank of your keyword.

But, I prefer to think that blogging is a business and hobby activities , with blogging we can express our opinion and at the same time we can gain revenue through advertising program:). So, how to be a successful blogger?. Ok, this time I will explain tips and tricks to become a successful blogger. Below are some tips that will help you build a successful business blogging:

1. Stick to one niche: to become a successful blogger, you must have a specific article topic for your blog, so readers would be comfortable to read all our articles, because the article you’ve written has a related topic.

2. Make it interesting: Write something interesting for your readers, it will make your readers, come back to your blog:). improve your writing skills.

3. Believe in yourself: Believe in yourself that your blog can be the best of the best:), so, it will make you more diligent to update your blog, remember, your self is the product of your mind:).

4. Run your blog as a business: you must have thought that your blog is a machine that can produce the money, and you can develop your blog as much as possible, you must create a goal to achieved.

5. Promote, Promote, Promote: promote your blog, and it will make your blog become crowded by the reader, create quality content and submit it to directories.

6. Encourage Interaction: You must be able to make your readers involved in each post you make, create interesting content, so that your visitors do not hesitate to go back to your blog, by doing this, will increase your blog readers, because they do not want to miss the latest articles from your blog.

7. Commitment: You might at first think that blogging is fun activities, and hobbies that you do every day, or in other words you menggap blogging as a hobby activity.tapi you should know that your blog may have the potential to give you money up to a million dollars, And just like any business it requires serious action, hard work and Disciple. This is something that will be the foundation in building your business blog.

there are several ways that we can do to prevent plagiarism:

1. copyright banners.
with this banner we directly say “this my content, and my content is protected by copyright!”, in this way, we already gave a warning to the plagiarist, so, if we make the claim in the future, we can say that “we have been given the label protected by copyright law!”, so there is no reason to defend for plagiarist.

2. License your content
some Blogger may be agreed if the content they have made are used by third parties, but, do not forget to obey terms of service, from the use of the content. for example:  source of article with live link

3. Protect your RSS feed
one general function of the rss feed is to provide content to read by readers from the bloggers who create the content, however, this function is sometimes used to make autoblog, which means our content is automatically copied

4. Provide Partial Feeds
methods to prevent feed scrapping is by providing a partial feed.

5. Watermark your content
this way is used to protect the image content, which is in your blog

6. Prevent image hotlinking
usually, plagiarist will do “copy image link location”, which is in the image of our blogs, and that means our content and bandwidth has been stolen by plagiarist.

7. Use CopyRight Pro Plugin
This is a wordpress plugin that we can use to prevent copy-paste, by disabling right click.

Ok, i think this is the tips to prevent plagiarism content, so, please follow the tips and tricks that I provide to protect your blog content.

Actually, I do not agree if the Alexa rangkings used as traffic  indicators for blog or website, because I’ve seen the blog that has a lower alexa, have higher traffic, compared to blogs that have lower traffic.

because it, I do not believe for ranking given by the alexa. but sometimes, there are bloggers who are looking for tips and tricks on increasing alexa rangkings, Ok, if it is important for bloggers to follow the online earning program like TLA and reviewme I will explain tips about “how to improve alexa rangkings“.

1. You can install the “alexa toolbar” on your computer and surf your own site.
2. told friends who use the alexa toolbar to surf your own site

3. Use the signature in the discussion forums that have good traffic

5. do exchange traffic, but it is not recommended, because it is not a real visitor.

6. use the Alexa rank widget on your blog.

7. Buy banners and links to blogs that have high traffic

Advantages:

*   Owned by Google.

*   Very fast indexed (listed / registered on the Search Engines more quickly). This is important because the website that is quickly indexed will soon be plastered on the pages of Google search engine.

*  “Elements” Setting – Only a Click & Drag, we can quickly add features provided without having to understand HTML code

*   No need to create a blog hosting (Free) – With a Gmail account, you can directly use the facilityand and go blogging.

*   Supports for Google AdsenseTM Program – Ads from Google which can add earnings from your blog / site.

Disadvantages:

*   The selection of themes and template is very limited.

*   Ad-bar from Google will always appear at the top of your blog.

*   There are no plug-in or add-on to add/install

2. WordPress

Advantages:

*    Being Open-Source – you can modify anything as you wish.

*    Because of its “Open Source”, many developers and programmers who made additional functions and features for WordPress.

*    Lots of Theme and Template to choose from (If you installed WordPress on your own hosting).

*    Widget Ready – like “Elements” from Google that allows you to add features – features that are available in your Blog

*    Supports Google AdsenseTM Program – With a plug-in developed by third parties adding Adsense code in your blog is made easy (only if we host the file on our private hosting)

*    Wordpress Display can be configured similar to CMS (Content Management System), it doesn’t look like a Blog.

*    You can add Video / Image

*    There is no AD-Bar

Disadvantages:

*    The drawback of wordpress is that you have to install it on your own file hosting to make it look like you want
